About Long Surf School

Long Surf School is a small, locally run surf school in Bentota, Sri Lanka. Founded in 2015 by Amila, the school started with a simple idea: to help visitors enjoy the ocean in a safe, friendly and relaxed way.

Our focus is on beginner and intermediate surf lessons, with personal instruction and experienced local surfers who know the beach, the waves and the changing ocean conditions. Whether it is your first time on a board or you already have some experience, we take the time to guide you step by step.

Over the years, Long Surf School has grown naturally through word of mouth, returning guests and people walking by on the beach. Many visitors come for one surf lesson and later ask us for help with motorbike rentals, day trips or travel tips around Sri Lanka. That is why we now also offer motorbike rentals and personalized tours — always with the same local, honest and personal approach.

For us, surfing is not about pressure or showing off. It is about enjoying the ocean, feeling safe, and having a good time in Bentota.
